Frank Lampard rings changes, Van de Beek starts – Confirmed XI vs Leeds
Frank Lampard has named his first Everton starting lineup for a Premier League game at Goodison Park, with four changes to face Leeds this afternoon.
Lampard’s first game in the league ended in a 3-1 defeat to relegation strugglers Newcastle last time out, and so he has made four changes with some enforced.
Yerry Mina is out for 8-10 weeks and Vitaly Mykolenko misses the game through illness, so Everton switch to a four-at-the-back system and hand Jonjoe Kenny a start at left-back.
In midfield Donny Van de Beek makes his first start for the club , while Dominic Calvert-Lewin comes into the attack in place of the injured Demarai Gray. Alex Iwobi starts too.
Andre Gomes misses out and is named on the bench, alongside January signings Nathan Patterson and Anwar El Ghazi.
Confirmed Everton XI: Pickford; Coleman, Holgate, Keane, Kenny; Allan, Van de Beek; Gordon, Iwobi, Richarlison; Calvert-Lewin.
Six pointer
Both teams are absolutely desperate for a win in this game but with home advantage on his side, it’s no surprise that Lampard has gone for an attacking side.
He is having to contend with some big injury issues, but the return of striker Dominic Calvert-Lewin is sure to be a huge positive for the team at the other end of the pitch.

Defensively, the change of system should hopefully make the team more solid but any sort of fitness worries during the match could set them back once more.
There is energy in the team too to contend with Marcelo Bielsa’s style of play and Van de Beek will be in the team to retain possession and create from deeper positions.
Everton need a win and fans are happy with the starting lineup, so now they need to deliver and go and claim all three points.
