Teddy Sheringham urges Everton ace Dele Alli to take hard look at himself
Teddy Sheringham has urged Everton midfielder Dele Alli to take full responsibility for his huge drop in form in recent years.
Alli moved to Goodison Park in an attempt to revive his career having fallen out of favour at Tottenham Hotspur.
The England legend thinks the 25-year-old made the right decision coming to Merseyside but suggested Alli must change his attitude if things are to change.

“Sometimes it happens with footballers, they enjoy the other side of the game,” star Sheringham told GettingCasino.
“For whatever reasons, sometimes you fall out of love with the game, whether it be earning too much money or the manager that you’re playing under doesn’t give you a chance.
“I don’t think Dele Alli can accuse any manager of not giving him chances, because he’s had four managers now that he hasn’t performed under. He’s got to take a long, hard look at himself and be very honest and say, ‘this is all about me’. He’s lucky that he is still a young man and that he can turn this around. I think it’s a big thing for him.
“I think leaving was the right thing for him, but just joining a new club and playing under a new manager doesn’t mean anything. He’s got to get that desire back where he wants to play at the top level.”
Media bullying
Alli just can’t catch a break, can he? It seems as if anything he does, he is criticised for whether it’s the car he drives or the clothes he wears, the midfielder just can’t do anything right.

His gargantuan drop in his career has led to him being a media target and you have to feel sorry for him.
There are elements to the truth in what is being said, especially by Sheringham here. The former Spurs player does need a serious wakeup call but there is absolutely nothing to suggest his attitude has been wrong during his time on Merseyside so far.
Previously? Maybe, but can everyone just give him the benefit of the doubt whilst he settles into his new club.
He is still young and has plenty of time to turn around his career. Bursting onto the scene as such a talented youngster really hasn’t helped him later in his career.
It would be great if he rediscovered his form at Goodison Park and silenced every last critic.
