The former Everton hero has also praised Richarlison and Anthony Gordon, saying both were “quality” during the game. He wrote on Twitter:

“So much better! Started well (check), Pressed hard (check), Worked and Grafted (check), Gordon and Richarlison quality (check), Frank kept it simple 4-4-2 (check), players and Fans loved it (check), Goodison Park rocking (check).”

Spot on

Hutchison is absolutely spot on here.

Gordon has been superb this season for the Toffees, and he has continued his progress in an incredible manner.

Under Rafa Benitez, he grabbed attention and became a regular in the first team. He has kept on going and has got another goal to his name.

It was also good to see Richarlison playing so well. With Dominic Calvert-Lewin also back in the side, the duo is expected to play a massive role this season going forward.

Yes, the atmosphere. It was buzzing. Under Benitez, Goodison Park became a place symbol of toxicity and mutiny and probably it needed a performance like this to unite the fan base once again.

Lampard kept it simple and the result followed. Everton managed 21 shots on goal and didn’t allow Leeds to create enough clear-cut chances.

The league table also looks better this week, and they steer away from the relegation zone.
