Frank Lampard shares training ground work that has helped Everton
Everton manager Frank Lampard has lifted the lid on his training ground methods that have helped form since taking charge at Finch Farm.
The Blues’ empathic 3-0 win over Leeds United at Goodison Park extended a positive start on Merseyside for the former Chelsea boss.
Lampard has now enjoyed 2 wins in his first three matches and has held the training ground work carried out with players responsible.

“Myself and the staff that work with me, we’ve been very particular about the message we want to get across,” Lampard told ECHO.
“I think it’s important to come in mid-season and prioritise the things you want to improve instantly, to make the message as simple as you can.
“And then to get the work right on the training pitch. Some of the work is kind of generic work in terms of the principles we want to play, to move well and through the lines, to have a quick reaction to win the ball back.”
He added “So it’s a mixture of principle work of how we want to play and the sessions we put on for that, teamwork about the opponent and how good we can be, and then there’s a bit of messaging and showing the players some video reminding them how good they are.”
Great start
The defeat to Newcastle was worrying but Lampard got himself right back on track with the Toffees best Goodison Park display for nearly a decade.

The players gave everything, the ground was rocking, and it was a massive three points in getting Everton as far away from the relegation zone as possible.
Obviously, Lampard needs to be given credit for what he has done since arriving, but he is still in the honeymoon period at the club.
Anyone could have walked into the manager’s job and improved the feeling at the club with the atmosphere starting to get toxic.
The Toffees have suffered for so long with managers and the recent Benitez saga left the club in an extremely sorry state.
With that being said, Lampard has shown his terrific ability to hit the nail on the head in terms of understanding the club, fans and players in his short time in charge at Finch Farm, something that hopefully continues.
