Everton could rekindle interest in Fenerbahce midfielder Miguel Crespo

Everton reportedly submitted an offer for Fenerbahce midfielder Miguel Crespo in the January transfer window.

According to Sporx, the Turkish club did not respond to the offer and any chances of a move to Goodison Park fizzled out due to their unwillingness to do a deal.

However, the Portuguese has been scouted extensively by the Toffees and they could return in the summer for another official offer.

It is said that even Atletico Madrid are keeping a close eye on Crespo, which suggests that he indeed is a quality player who could take the Toffees to the next level.

Allan has had his struggles of late while Abdoulaye Doucoure’s injury prone nature makes it imperative for the club to rope in reinforcements.

Andre Gomes is also clearly not Everton level and he will be shipped out once Frank Lampard has plenty of depth in that department.

Donny van de Beek, who joined on loan in January, may not even be at the club beyond this summer.

The new Manchester United boss would certainly want to give him a chance to prove his worth and that means he’s going to be on Merseyside only for a few months.

Signing Crespo would be an ideal move by the Toffees hierarchy as he’s at the perfect age and would be a good fit in the Premier League as well.
