Everton must move on from midfielder Andre Gomes
Everton midfielder Andre Gomes put in another woeful performance against Southampton on Saturday in the Premier League.
The Toffees suffered an embarrassing 2-0 defeat and did very little to prove why they’re not in the relegation dog fight.
They started the game on the back foot and as the game wore on, they failed to even have sustained spells of possession.

Gomes did not start the game but Frank Lampard brought him off the bench thinking that it was the right call.
With Allan on a yellow and extremely close to being sent off, the Toffees boss did not want to take any risks.
So he brought Gomes on and the Portuguese midfielder was disastrous in the middle of the park.
Not only did he fail to control the midfield, he gave away the ball needlessly on several occasions and also made some silly challenges that saw him flirt with a sending off as well.
Under no manager has he proven to be a reliable commodity and fans must be already losing patience with him.

He’s one of the players who does not offer much at either ends of the pitch and if they do get any bidders for him, we’re confident that they will look to part ways in the summer.
On commentary for the Premier League world feed, Garry Birtles slammed him.
He said, “Ridiculous decision to give the free kick away. He’s not been good since coming on, has he?”
This surely has to be the beginning of the end for his days on Merseyside.
