It’s been a tough season so far for Everton and their star striker Dominic Calvert-Lewin as he looks to find form again after a long injury layoff.

The 24-year-old spent three months on the sidelines after getting injured against Brighton in August but he’s struggled to find his goalscoring boots against since his return.

He hasn’t found the net for Frank Lampard’s Toffees since his return and some supporters are getting worried about their talisman.

Former Everton striker Kevin Campbell is among those concerned about the England international’s form but reminded fans that they need to be patient in this scenario.

“When you come back from injury, you want to hit the ground running but it just hasn’t worked out for him that way,” he exclusively told Goodison News.

“Sometimes you can’t put your finger on why it isn’t working out because you do all the right things.

“But for him, it’s just not happening and it’s going to take a little bit longer to get going and that’s what it seems like for him. He’ll be fine, he’s a good player.”

Calvert-Lewin will be desperate to start scoring again as soon as possible and could do so against Premier League leaders Manchester City at the weekend.

Lampard would very much like that to be the case because furthering his drought in front of goal might see him dropped if other players can step up to the plate.

He is still the club’s best striker but even the best need time to rebound, no need to panic Blues, he will get there.
