Everton want to sign Bristol City midfielder Alex Scott

Everton are reportedly eyeing a summer swoop for Bristol City midfielder Alex Scott.

According to The Daily Mail, the Toffees are plotting a move for the 18-year-old English midfielder.

Barring Everton, fellow Premier League sides like West Ham and Leicester are also keen on snapping up the central midfielder’s services.

It’s understood that Bristol are under tremendous financial pressure, having recorded a pre-tax loss of £38million.

That means that they could be compelled into selling at least one of their prized assets this summer.

Sign him

Scott may not be a household name among Everton or even Premier League fans.

However, he’s doing well in the Championship and could be ready to make the move up to the English top flight.

While he may not walk into the Toffees team, he could represent their U-23s week in and week out and within a year he could be ready to knock on the manager’s door.

Everton

With Jean-Philippe Gbamin out on loan and unlikely to return along with Andre Gomes’ lack of consistency, Everton do need a long-term central midfielder.

Scott may just fit the bill perfectly for the Merseyside giants, having been labelled “phenomenal” by Football League World after he made the four-person shortlist for the 2021 Betway Channel Islands Sports Personality of The Year award.
