Everton want to sign Villarreal star Arnaut Danjuma

Everton are preparing to battle fellow Premier League outfit West Ham for the signing of Villarreal winger Arnaut Danjuma this summer, according to Calciomercato.

The 25-year-old has become a star in La Liga since he left Bournemouth in 2021 having scored 12 goals this season for the Spanish side.

His latest trio of strikes all came in Villarreal’s 4-1 win against Granada which has done little to subdue the price Everton might have to pay.

That information though is already public knowledge as The Athletic reported that the Dutchman has a £62.5million release clause in his contract.

Richarlison replacement

Lampard must be fearing the worst if there is really strong interest in Danjuma because a left-sided player isn’t a major concern right now.

Richarlison has been a star performer for the Toffees for a number of years now and has shown no signs of slowing down despite Everton languishing down in 16th in the Premier League.

If this is the case, then Danjuma makes perfect sense as he is already another Richarlison in his physical demeanour and ability to hit the target with almost every shot he takes.

Four of his 12 goals this season have come in the Champions League which is where Everton aspire to be one day so he is the ideal player to bring in and begin that surge towards European football.

He should still be considered even if Richarlison stays as the two together could cause all kinds of chaos for Premier League defenders up and down the land.
