Kevin Campbell thrilled by Abdoulaye Doucoure return to Everton training this week

Kevin Campbell has been left thrilled by the return to training of Everton midfielder Abdoulaye Doucoure this week.

The ex-Toffees talisman insisted that Frank Lampard will be desperate to have him available after he was pictured at Finch Farm.

Lampard has been backed to put Doucoure straight back into the starting XI as soon as he is 100% recovered from his latest blow.

“I think Frank Lampard can’t wait to get him back,” he exclusively told Goodison News.

“Especially away from home, because Doucoure has got so many attributes to his game, he’s box-to-box, can really help and put his foot in, he can nick a goal as well.

“So, not being able to have him makes a difference as Everton are weaker without him, I think with him coming in, we’ve seen Allan and Van de Beek do well, that will be the midfield trio when he’s fit.

“I think Lampard will incorporate him and as soon as he’s right, he’ll start. I just think getting that midfield right with the right energy, technique and running power, whoever then plays upfront and wide doesn’t really matter.”

With Doucoure back in training, he will be ready to be selected once again.

The Frenchman will likely be on the bench against Manchester City and could start after that with the FA Cup clash against Boreham Wood a good target.

Lampard has every right to be desperate to get him back in, but rushing it could cause more complications given how many problems he has had.

This is an exciting time at Finch Farm, and hopefully, this can be one development that sparks another resurgence.
