Everton confirmed XI v Manchester City: Donny van de Beek starts
Frank Lampard has named his Everton starting eleven to take on the Premier League leaders in Manchester City today.
Dominic Calvert-Lewin does not even make the bench, which could mean it’s an injury.
Abdoulaye Doucoure makes his return to the starting eleven in a move that could see Donny van de Beek playing in an advanced role.
Don’t lose
The Citizens have steamrolled teams in the bottom half this season and everything suggests they could do the same here.
Everton are still finding their way under Frank Lampard and they could be outplayed by Guardiola’s well-oiled machine here today.
Hopefully, the former Chelsea boss has some tricks pulled up his sleeve for this one.
He knows that City are going to be absolutely relentless and more often than not, will get the job done in the final third.
Richarlison will be the one the club will rely on for goals and he needs to end his recent barren run.
Hopefully, van de Beek as a 10 will mean that the Brazilian has more support in the final third.
Apart from that, most of the team picked itself for this one and we’re hoping that Calvert-Lewin’s absence is nothing major here.
A draw would be a great result and hopefully the Toffees players show some heart at Goodison Park.
