Everton get Premier League explanation after controversial decision v Man City
Everton were unfortunate to lose against the Premier League leaders Manchester City yesterday as Phil Foden made the difference.
He scored with 10 minutes left to play but soon after that, the Toffees and seemingly everyone watching thought they should have been given a penalty.
Rodri appeared to handle the ball as the Citizens tried to play out from the back and despite a VAR interference, the decision of no penalty was agreed upon.

The Athletic report that the Premier League have offered the club an explanation as to why the decision was not overturned by VAR.
“The video assistant referee (VAR) did not award Everton a penalty against Manchester City in their Premier League match on Sunday because of a lack of conclusive evidence that the ball hit Rodri’s arm in the ‘red zone’,” they report.
Nonsense
How many times is handball going to cause these controversies until the governing bodies finally make a change?
Despite what many fans think, this isn’t the fault of VAR or the people using it.

VAR is simply applying the rules of the game and this highlights just how idiotic the handball rule currently is and it has to change.
Who knows when the powers that be decided that the upper arm doesn’t count as handball but what is absolutely certain is that supporters do not agree with it.
Had common sense been allowed to be used yesterday, Everton get a penalty and the chance to level the scores at 1-1 which could have completely turned the game in the Toffees’ favour.
Instead, here we are again talking about a controversial decision that could have been easily avoided.
