Gary Lineker reacts to Rodri handball incident in Everton loss v Manchester City
Everton were left disappointed after a blatant penalty was not given in their favour following a VAR check on Saturday (26 February).
The Toffees lost 1-0 against Premier League champions Manchester City where Phil Foden scored the winning goal in the 82nd minute.
City midfielder Rodri appeared to handle a dropping ball inside his area, but surprisingly the penalty was not given.

Gary Lineker took to Twitter to express his reaction, He wrote: “Woah, that’s a penalty surely?”
Poor decision
It was a poor decision after a VAR check and it left everyone in disbelief. The decision would have given the home side a chance to equalise from the spot.
The fans, particularly those in the Gwladys Street End who were closest to the incident, were furious with the decision, and they booed Paul Tierney after the game.
It was a thrilling contest between the two sides, and Everton did really well to keep the game tight. However, an awful defending from Michael Keane allowed Foden to score from close range in the closing stages of the game.

Jordan Pickford was outstanding throughout as he made a succession of saves to keep City at bay.
The Toffees will feel that they deserved something from this game, and once again a poor decision from VAR spoiled everything.
The defeat leaves Everton struggling at 17th in the league, only one point and one place above the bottom three.
