Alan Myers: Gbamin loan from Everton to CSKA Moscow unaffected
Alan Myers has claimed that Jean-Phillipe Gbamin’s loan from Everton to CSKA Moscow is unaffected by the recent sanctions on Russia.
In a major development on Monday, the Guardian reported that FIFA and UEFA have suspended all Russian teams from their competitions.
This is due to the political tensions between Russia and Ukraine and president Vladimir Putin’s declaration of war.
Via his personal Twitter account, Myers wrote, “My understanding is that Gbamin’s loan to CSKA Moscow is not affected by the Uefa and Fifa bans.”
Relief
Gbamin was a move that never worked out for the Toffees so it’s good he is out on loan there.
Hopefully, he does well so that when he returns, his value skyrockets and Everton can sell him for a decent fee.
At the club, he was biding his time in the reserves and was barely even in contention for making a senior start.

It was a move that was bad for both parties and the loan gives him the opportunity for a fresh start.
We’re hoping that political tensions ease so that everyone can be back to focus on the football and scout Gbamin in the Russian league.
Hopefully, he does not pick up another long-term injury because that will all but end his chance of getting a good move next season.
