Alan Myers: Mike Riley makes phonecall to Frank Lampard and Bill Kenwright after Everton VAR scandal
Alan Myers has shared that Mike Riley made personal phone calls to Frank Lampard and Bill Kenwright after Everton lost against Manchester City.
There was outrage after the officials and VAR missed a clear handball from Rodri that could have saved the Toffees a point.
Riley must have made the calls after Everton were said to have made an official complaint to the Premier League.

Writing on his personal Twitter account, Myers shared the update that will mean nothing to fans at this moment in time.
“Head of Referees Mike Riley made personal telephone calls to both Everton Chairman Bill Kenwright and Manager Frank Lampard to apologise following the decision by VAR not to award the club a penalty in Saturday’s game versus Manchester City,” he wrote.
Nothing.
This means nothing to Everton.
Where was Riley when his team was making yet another clanger over the weekend, in what must be the biggest error since VAR was introduced?
His excuses and calls mean nothing to us, and we would much rather have the point that this may have saved in a crucial Premier League race to survive.
This only happened because the official complaint was likely made, and it is cowardly for it to lead to that.
The incident has passed now, and we must move on to more vital games in the Premier League and hopefully pick up wins to get us out of this mess.
As for Riley, the incompetence of his team will only lead to someone losing their job sooner rather than later.
