View: Abdoulaye Doucoure proves Frank Lampard right man for Everton
Everton ace Abdoulaye Doucoure’s comments have proven that Frank Lampard is the right man to turn the Toffees form around.
The key midfielder made his comeback from injury in the Blues’ controversial 1-0 defeat to Manchester City on Saturday (February 26).
Since the former Chelsea manager arrived, there has been a certain lift in every aspect and the Frenchman’s comments after the game only emphasised that.

He told Everton: “In the [4-3-3] system, I can go a little bit forward. I was a little bit higher than Donny and Allan, but I can do the deeper defensive work as well.
“I think the shape worked quite well and it did in training, too.
“The identity of the team is clear. The idea is very good. We try to play football and I think everyone enjoys this. I think soon the results are going to come and we will be better.”
Massively important
For a long time, Everton haven’t had an identity. That is why they find themselves in the mess they are in currently.
It has essentially been a group of individuals that are supposedly working towards the same goal with no real structure.

To hear the 29-year-old come out and say something that they worked on in training had worked well is brilliant.
Evidently it did as well with the Toffees so close to holding the Premier League champions to a draw at Goodison Park.
It seems as if Lampard is working with the players and using their strengths and even their weaknesses in training to try and get the win as a team.
There will be time the Blues need to grind out results, last weekend being one of them, but the football is much more exciting this way.
They are looking to hurt teams when possible rather than just sitting in a compact defensive block and long may it continue.
