Everton want to sign Birmingham City starlet Jordan James
Everton are among the half a dozen Premier League clubs who are keen on signing Birmingham City starlet Jordan James this summer, according to Football League World.
The 17-year-old attacking midfielder has been capped at Under-18 level for his native Wales and scored his first senior goal for the Blues in their 2-2 draw against Stoke City.
Birmingham manager Lee Bowyer rates his teenage starlet very highly and last month he labelled James as an asset to the club, as quoted by Birmingham World

“He’s a tremendous asset. He’s a good player and, if he wasn’t, trust me, he wouldn’t be playing. People are going to be looking at him for sure,” he said.
The Toffees have enjoyed his form in the second division this season as have West Ham, Wolves, Brighton, Southampton and Crystal Palace who are all in the hunt too.
An eye to the future
It’s never too early to put your rod in the water of the transfer window lake and Everton look keen to get theirs in before anybody else.
They’ll have to as well because if the aforementioned list of clubs proves to be correct it will be an incredibly fierce transfer battle when the summer rolls around.

James probably isn’t ready to be playing week-in, week-out in the Premier League yet and next season is still too soon for such a young player so maybe the Toffees can sweeten the deal a little.
If they offer Birmingham a loan back for next season, they might persuade the Championship side to turn down other offers and allow themselves a free run at the teenager.
Frank Lampard will be well aware of the talent in the Championship and James is among those with the highest ceiling so the club have to do what they can to sign him as soon as possible if they are at all serious.
In other Everton news, a reliable journalist has confirmed that two teenagers have been training with the first team ahead of the FA Cup game against Boreham Wood.
