Kevin Campbell: Return of Abdoulaye Doucoure instrumental in Everton survival fight
We’re delighted to welcome former Everton striker Kevin Campbell as our exclusive columnist. Each week the former Toffees captain will be giving his views on the biggest talking points at Goodison Park…
Kevin Campbell has insisted that the return of Abdoulaye Doucoure should see Everton fight off the threat of relegation in the Premier League.
The-ex Toffees talisman admitted that the Frenchman has been “instrumental” already in his performances against Manchester City and Boreham Wood.
Everton could be sitting in the bottom three when they kick-off against Spurs on Monday, but that isn’t bothering Campbell too much.

“He has played really well,” he exclusively told Goodison News.
“Him coming back definitely makes Everton a stronger side, he helped them match Manchester City for long periods, I think he was instrumental.
“It was great to see him back, now that he’s back, if Everton perform like that, they’ll have no problems staying up.
“Obviously, they’re in a precarious position, so they are in a relegation battle, but, having your best players back is going to see them in good stead.”

Instrumental.
Getting Doucoure back made the midfield three instantly more powerful.
Allan has been left out to dry for most of the season with those around him consistently injured, but now he has been joined by not only the Frenchman but Donny Van de Beek too.
Campbell, like many, has been given fresh hope with all of these developments that relegation won’t be a worry.
It is time for the players to transform that into reality now, with the desperation for wins growing by the week.
