‘Need every point they can get’ – Michael Owen predicts result of Everton clash v Tottenham
Michael Owen believes Everton are ‘firmly in this relegation race’ ahead of their clash with Tottenham this weekend, and has made his prediction for the game.
The Toffees earned a route into the FA Cup quarter-finals with a win over National League Boreham Wood on Thursday, but they’re currently just one point above the relegation zone in the Premier League.
Frank Lampard was brought in to try and save them but after three defeats in four Premier League games he has struggled. Now Owen has backed them in his BetVictor column to get a much needed point in London on Monday night, but thinks it won’t be a memorable game.

“Everton showed an improved defensive shape against City last week, can they do that every week though?” he said.
“They need every point they can get right now, they’re firmly in this relegation race.
“I think Everton can get a point here. I certainly don’t see this being a classic, 1-1.”
Must not lose
Everyone is aware of a ‘must-win’ game, but this is more of a must not lose game for Everton and Lampard.
Their performances under the new manager have been relatively impressive for the most part, but the results just haven’t followed. But they take on a Spurs side in disarray this week.

They got knocked out of the FA Cup by Championship side Middlesbrough and recently got beaten comfortably by Burnley, but they were electric when they beat Man City and Leeds either side of that game too.
Lampard needs to find a way to deal with them if they’re in their best mood, but also to take advantage of them if they’re in their worst to get a result.
Everton need points, but currently one is better than none and a draw would not be a bad result in the slightest on Monday night.
