Everton want to sign West Brom starlet Reyes Cleary

Everton are among several clubs that are in the race to sign West Brom’s 17-year-old striker Reyes Cleary this summer, according to the Daily Mail.

The Englishman scored his 30th goal of the season on Monday as the Baggies’ Under-23s beat QPR in the Premier League Cup.

His sensational form in the youth ranks has attracted a lot of interest from Premier League clubs with Arsenal, Southampton and Newcastle also hoping to bring Cleary to their club.

The Daily Mail also claim that German champions Bayern Munich are monitoring his progress at The Hawthorns along with their Champions League opponents RB Salzburg and fellow Bundesliga side Bayer Leverkusen.

Cleary is yet to sign a new deal with the Albion despite the club offering him one which means he could soon be free to talk to other clubs although the Championship outfit will still be due a compensation fee.

Must buy

It might seem mental to suggest a 17-year-old with no senior experience is a must buy but Cleary really is just that.

His unbelievable goal scoring record speaks for itself at youth level and why West Brom haven’t given him a chance in the first team is a mystery.

Frank Lampard might not see him as a starter next season, he would be mad if he did, but the potential is coming out of his ears and he could easily be a future star man at Everton.

With so many top clubs also in the hunt for his signature, he is obviously a highly-rated player away from the Midlands too and the Toffees would only be hurting themselves by not pursuing Cleary.

If they can beat the opposition and sign the 17-year-old from West Brom, they will have set themselves up for a very fruitful future.
