Simon Jordan gives Everton fans small relegation hope
Simon Jordan believes Everton do have a chance of survival this season, because the three teams below them in the table are worse than them.
The Toffees were battered 5-0 by Tottenham on Monday night and sit one point above the relegation zone in 17th place, with a horrendous run of fixtures to come before the end of the season.
But Jordan, who was speaking on his talkSPORT show with Jim White [March 8th, 10:26am], believes that if they continue with their performances like that they will get relegated however the teams below them are currently worse.

“What their get out of jail card is, is that the three sides beneath them are worse.
“Part of that though that changes, is that Burnley have got just a little bit about them. And Sean Dyche has got a lot about him. So he’s the one that factors into the equation and might drag Burnley out of it. If he does drag Burnley out of it, who’s getting dragged in? I’ve got a feeling Brentford, but it could be [Everton].
“If they keep on churning out anything remotely resembling that [vs Tottenham], they’re not going to be fine. They’re going to get relegated.”
Big trouble
Everton will face six of the top eight in their final 13 games of the season, including Manchester United, Chelsea and Liverpool in their next five games in the Premier League.

That is a recipe for disaster on paper and with two huge home games against Wolves and in-form Newcastle United coming up first, they really are must-win games now.
The performance against Tottenham was totally unacceptable and Lampard acknowledged that, but the fans need to see something more from the players away from Goodison Park.
With the team playing well at home, there is no reason why they can’t live up to a similar standard at other grounds and that type of improvement could be the difference between safety and relegation.
It may well be that the teams below Everton just aren’t able to take advantage of how bad they are right now to save themselves.
