Everton trio could start v Wolves as Lampard most likely to make changes

The next two Premier League games are absolutely vital for Everton as they look to turn the situation around.

The Toffees have been dreadful all season, but their record away from home is shambolic. At least, under Frank Lampard, they have produced some strong performances at home, irrespective of the result.

However, a reaction is needed after the Toffees lost 5-0 against Tottenham in their last Premier League game.

According to the Liverpool Echo, Lampard could freshen up the defence, which means senior players like Seamus Coleman, Mason Holgate and Michael Keane could be dropped.

The report suggests that Jarrad Branthwaite and Vitaliy Mykolenko could come in to give a fresh new look at the back.

Nathan Patterson could also get a chance after he made his debut in the FA Cup clash against Boreham Wood.

Two home games

The Toffees face Wolves and Newcastle in their next two home games, and they have to aim for maximum points from those two fixtures.

At Goodison Park, the Toffees produced arguably their best performance of the season in the 3-0 win over Leeds, and Lampard will expect a similar sort of performance and result.

Yes, a change in system or players can freshen things up. Both Branthwaite and Mykolenko has impressed in whatever little opportunities they’ve got, and they certainly deserve a chance.

Patterson is yet to make an impact since his big-money move from Rangers in January. However, he is already a regular member of the Scotland national team, and Lampard could give him a shot to impress.
