Everton can win Ben Brereton Diaz race if they give back to Blackburn
Everton are among a host of clubs in the race to sign Blackburn Rovers and Chile goal machine Ben Brereton Diaz this summer.
The Toffees’ interest in the Chilean was reported by TEAMtalk yesterday and named a number of Premier League clubs who are also keen on the 22-year-old born in Stoke-on-Trent.
His 20-goal season, so far, in the Championship has helped Tony Mowbray’s side to an automatic promotion challenge and it seems almost certain that he will be playing in the big league next season.

Whether that is with Blackburn via promotion or at another club is going to be determined by how Rovers do this campaign.
Frank Lampard and Everton though can put themselves above the rest in the eyes of Mowbray with one very simple act.
Finch Farm is currently home to a couple of very talented young strikers who can’t get a game for the Toffees’ first team.
Lewis Dobbin has been resigned to bench appearances and Under-23 games this season while Ellis Simms has been sent on loan to Hearts in Scotland where he has scored three times since his January move.
Both of these could be ready for a proper test at either Premier League or Championship level next season and maybe that is where Everton can pounce.

If they offer either of these talented young strikers to Blackburn in exchange for Brereton Diaz, the Lancashire club could be persuaded to reject other approaches, giving the Blues are free run at the Chilean.
Other Premier League sides may try the same kind of move but Dobbin and Simms’ quality should see them over the line ahead of any other side.
In other Everton news, Paul Merson has attacked Everton fans to try and fend them off from abusing one of their key men.
