Everton want to sign Ben Brereton-Diaz this summer – report
Everton are one of several Premier League clubs interested in signing Blackburn Rovers striker Ben Brereton-Diaz this summer, according to TEAMtalk.
Brereton-Diaz has taken the Championship by storm this season, scoring 20 goals in 27 games for Rovers as they look to get back into the Premier League via the playoffs.
The Chile international’s current contract is set to expire at the end of the season, but Blackburn have an option to extend it by another year which they are believed to have already taken up.

According to the report, Brighton have moved ahead in the race for the 22-year-old striker and are willing to offer players in exchange to get a deal done.
However Everton are keeping tabs on the situation and are looking to make a move this summer to bolster their squad, despite knowing the Seagulls have taken the lead in the hunt for him.
Firepower
Everton have sorely missed a reliable goalscorer this season in the absence of Dominic Calvert-Lewin, so bringing in another striker would make a lot of sense.
Their position in the Premier League is far from secure right now, but Brereton-Diaz would be a good option whether they stayed up or went down, having shown his ability at the lower level already.

If the Toffees were to get relegated, there is no way Calvert-Lewin and Richarlison would still be at the club next season and they would need to find a way to replace their output.
Diaz was born in Stoke and was once in the Manchester United academy, so enjoys being up north and Lampard would surely look to use his own reputation to entice new signings too.
Whether he joins as first-choice or as back-up surely depends on how the season ends, but Everton are already looking ahead to the summer window.
