Alan Myers: Everton are yet to sign deal with Laing O’Rourke for new stadium

Everton have agreed a deal with Laing O’Rourke for the design and building of the new stadium but have not signed it yet, claims Alan Myers.

While there are some mixed messages coming from the club, the Sky Sports editor believes that the stadium is too far down the road for it to be a problem.

Laing O’Rourke have also been posting periodic updates and claim that they are on course to meet their goals.

Via his personal Twitter account, Myers wrote, “Deal is agreed but yet to be signed, I believe.”

Good news

The new stadium and Bramley-Moore Dock is certainly one that’s causing excitement among the Everton faithful.

While they love Goodison Park, they know that if they are to become a big club and fight for top honours, they do need a world class facility to attract the best players.

Even though Spurs are not successful, they’ve still got that pull and a lot of it is down to their new stadium.

This new Toffees stadium is likely to be state of the art and will open the door to plenty of sponsorship opportunities for them in the future.

Given how they are undergoing financial difficulties, this could be a big boon for the club hierarchy.

In other Everton news, Manchester United boss Ralf Rangnick has apologised to Everton with regard to his comments about them due to what’s been going on at Chelsea.
