Frank Lampard delivers injury update on Everton striker Dominic Calvert-Lewin
Frank Lampard has confirmed that Everton striker Dominic Calvert-Lewin didn’t feature in the loss to Wolves because of illness.
It came as a shock when the team news was announced today (13 March) where Calvert-Lewin didn’t even make the bench.
Everton lost 1-0 against Wolves, and they are now facing a genuine prospect of getting relegated this season.

Lampard said after the game, as relayed by Liverpool Echo journalist Adam Jones on Twitter: “He’s not well, so we’ll see.”
Words fail
This was a massive game for the Toffees. The away record has been shambolic, but there was a feeling the Toffees would be charged up at Goodison Park.
It was a game they shouldn’t have lost. In the end, they ended up sliding further into danger after their fourth successive Premier League defeat.
Conor Coady scored the decisive goal, while Jonjoe Kenny was sent off for the home side.
With Leeds and Watford picking up crucial wins, Lampard’s side sits just above the bottom three only on goal difference.

Although Everton have a game in hand, they fail to exude the confidence of picking up vital points that are required for survival, let alone building momentum.
What has been really frustrating is that Lampard is still missing his top striker when the club need him badly.
Calvert-Lewin has struggled for form and fitness this season, and now there’s an uncertainty when he will return to action.
