Lampard wields axe in 3 changes – Everton confirmed XI v Wolves

Frank Lampard has made 3 changes to the Everton side that were beaten 5-0 by Tottenham for the visit of Wolves to Goodison Park.

The Toffees were comprehensively beaten at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Monday to drop closer to the relegation zone and Lampard couldn’t field that same starting XI.

He has axed Michael Keane, Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Allan from the starting lineup for today’s game with Vitaliy Mykolenko, Ben Godfrey and Demarai Gray coming in to replace them.

It looks set to be a tough afternoon for Everton regardless with Wolves on a high following their 4-0 win over Watford in midweek.

Opportunity

Today’s game offers the Toffees a wonderful chance to drag themselves briefly clear of the bottom three.

Burnley suffered defeat yesterday at the hands of Brentford which has kept the Blies’ heads above water for the time being.

Watford and Norwich, the other two sides below Everton right now, have tough away trips to contend with today as the Hornets go to Leeds and the Canaries to Southampton.

Wolves though are chasing a European place in the Premier League this season and sit just two points off West Ham who currently occupy sixth.

When it comes to firepower, Bruno Lage’s side aren’t writing any headlines but their defence is so solid that only the runaway top three have conceded less.

In other Everton news, Graeme Souness has laid into Farhad Moshiri for his reign as owner of The Toffees.
