Ben Grounds shares what affected Goodison Park atmosphere v Wolves
Everton lost 1-0 against Wolves in the Premier League at Goodison Park on Sunday and Ben Grounds noticed a change in atmosphere.
The Toffees find themselves in a precarious position where they are just above the relegation zone with goal differences only separating them from the bottom three.
The away form has been dreadful this season, but the home form under Frank Lampard has been equally horrible.

The Sky Sports journalist wrote on Twitter: “There were gasps around me in the first half yesterday when the big screens showed goal updates from St Mary’s and Elland Road.
“Addressed in the second half – no updates. Everton don’t have the characters who can handle seeing that and it definitely affected the atmosphere.”
Character
Nigel Reo-Coker suggested on BBC Football Daily podcast that the Everton players are lacking characters at the moment.
However, it seems, it is not just the players, but the entire unit at the club is lacking characters. They don’t have the courage to see what’s going on elsewhere, as they probably feel it could further hamper their confidence.
That shows how fragile the state of the club is at the moment. After Conor Coady scored the goal in the second half, Everton hardly created chances. There is no fight, no desire, and no proper thought process at the moment.

It is the job of the manager to inspire his players, but they don’t seem to have an idea how to come back into the match once they go behind.
The goals have dried up. Richarlison tried to engineer some moves on his own, but he hasn’t got proper services.
The fans can generate a great atmosphere but if the players don’t respond, naturally the buzz in the stadium drops.
