Everton need Dominic Calvert-Lewin to reset after speeding fine

The relegation scrap that Everton find themselves in is seriously threatening the futures of a lot of the Toffees squad and they need a reset.

None more so than striker Dominic Calvert-Lewin who has returned from a foot injury a shadow of his former self in front of goal.

And the 24-year-old is making errors away from football too as he was fined £900 for speeding in his Lamborghini in Runcorn [Daily Post].

The court originally heard that the England international would be given the maximum fine of £1,000 but this was reduced by 10% as a result of Calvert-Lewin’s guilty plea.

The incident may have happened at the beginning of the season in August but perhaps it was the start of the troubles at Goodison Park.

His start to the campaign looked as if he would go on to lead the Toffees to a top-half finish but as soon as he suffered the injury, the wheels fell off.

The 24-year-old has been nothing short of woeful since his return though and he hasn’t helped to blot any of those wheels back onto the wagon.

He is in desperate need of a reset and he could get that chance during the international break, assuming he isn’t called up to the England squad.

There are a number of Everton players who really need a good week off to recharge the batteries and come into the run-in with a fresh perspective and attitude to try and survive this relegation dogfight.

Calvert-Lewin now has to prove himself as a leader of this team and find his goal-scoring boots once more because, without his goals, there is little hope of Premier League football being played at Goodison Park next season.
