Everton want to sign £12m-rated Barcelona goalkeeper Neto

Everton are reportedly keen on sealing a summer swoop for wantaway Barcelona goalkeeper Neto.

According to Spanish media outlet Sport, the Blaugrana side are looking for a fee in the region of £12million to part ways with the Brazilian shot stopper.

His agents believe that the Premier League is the most likely destination for Neto – who’s been wanting to leave Camp Nou for a number of months.

Get him?

Signing another goalkeeper will mean that the club will need to sort their pecking order.

Jordan Pickford may not be having his best season in goal for Everton but he still is their first choice.

Should another keeper come in, demanding his place in the team, Pickford is all but certain to seek a move away from Goodison Park.

Spurs had shown an interest in him ahead of the January transfer window and they could be back in the hunt should the Toffees actually sign someone to fight him for a number one spot.

Everton are already in dire financial straits so it makes little sense to sign Neto, a player who is described as “outstanding” on his Barcelona bio.

If Pickford is certainly leaving, then he could be a decent replacement but otherwise, there are other positions that need strengthening first.

In other Everton news, Manchester United boss Ralf Rangnick has apologised to Everton with regard to his comments about them due to what’s been going on at Chelsea.
