Kevin Campbell reacts to ‘terrible’ Everton result against Wolves
We’re delighted to welcome former Everton striker Kevin Campbell as our exclusive columnist. Each week the former Toffees captain will be giving his views on the biggest talking points at Goodison Park…
Kevin Campbell was disappointed by the lack of production in attack and the basic goal Everton conceded in defeat to Wolves.
A Conor Coady header was enough to condemn the Toffees to defeat in one of the two crucial games at Goodison Park this week.
The result leaves the side only above the relegation places on goal difference, after a performance that was an improvement on the capitulation at Tottenham but still yielded the same amount of points.

Speaking exclusively to Goodison News the former Toffees striker said: “I just think Wolves are a difficult side to play against full stop. They don’t concede many goals, they’ve had a good season, so it was always going to be a tough one for Everton.
“We were just hoping that if Wolves were going to score it was going to be something spectacular, not a free header by Conor Coady in your box.
“That’s avoidable because you’ve got to stop the cross.
“I thought Everton had done okay – obviously the result was terrible – but they’ve got to show a bit more at the top end of the pitch.
“I thought Richarlison worked hard and looked willing, but they just didn’t have enough at the top end of the pitch.
“If you’re conceding at one end and you’re not scoring at the other, that’s a recipe for disaster.
“So I’m sure Frank Lampard is going to really look at that, and look for them to be a lot more productive than they were.
“But I will say again, Wolves are defensively very strong.”

The games in hand on all of the other teams battling against relegation are fast-becoming the only thing for Toffees fans to comfort themselves with.
But as each game gets chalked up as another loss, the prospect of those matches producing the points the team needs become more remote.
All is not lost yet, but the task is becoming increasingly daunting with every passing performance.
In other Everton news, Stan Collymore sees only one “definite” leader in the entire of the “feckless” squad.
