Michael Ball empties both barrels on Everton players in relegation crisis

Michael Ball has savaged the Everton players and their lack of responsibility taken, claiming they aren’t good enough to be at the club, as per Liverpool ECHO.

There was one man who got the former Blues’ seal of approval, Anthony Gordon who as usual ran his socks off in the 1-0 defeat against Wolves.

Ball alluded to the Toffees’ recruitment strategy as the root of the club’s current player crisis.

He wrote in his ECHO column: “Granted though there was one player on Sunday who once again showed up the majority of his team-mates with his performance and that was AnthonyGordon.

“He’s running forwards, he’s running back and he’s all over the pitch because he is trying to help his team-mates out.

‘But the rest aren’t good enough and the rest aren’t taking responsibility. They aren’t doing the hard yards that are required.

“Every year in my column I talk about the need to put the hard yards in and the need to do the dirty side of the game players don’t like doing.

“But we all know what this all comes down to and that is recruitment. The players who have joined the club don’t suit our style.”

One man army

Gordon has been Everton’s shining star since the youngsters held Chelsea to a 1-1 draw at Stamford Bridge.

He notched an assist that day and performed excellently and hasn’t looked back since, establishing himself as one of the Blues’ key players.

At just 21 the scouser is already leading by example and every single one of his teammates need to take notice.

Being a local lad, you can see his heart is genuinely with the club and the work rate he puts in week in week out only exemplifies that.

It really doesn’t seem like a lot to ask but for some reason the Toffees players just can’t give the bare minimum.

The fans aren’t asking for amazing football whilst winning every game, they just want to see some genuine effort.

Goodison Park would be rocking if they saw running, tackling, playing for one another and leaving everything on the pitch which was seen in the first couple of home games under Frank Lampard but has been seemingly forgotten judging by the game against Wolves.

In other Everton news, Neil Warnock savages the players claiming Frank Lampard needs help.
