Alan Shearer unleashes on Anthony Gordon for 'Silly' incident in Everton clash v Newcastle

Alan Shearer has unleashed on Everton winger Anthony Gordon for his antics against Newcastle on Thursday evening.

The young talent went charging in and shoved Emil Krafth after a challenge on Richarlison, with both players ending up booked.

Shearer labelled Gordon as “Silly” with no real need to get involved in such confrontations when it is being dealt with by the officials.

Speaking live on Amazon Prime coverage of the clash, Shearer was not impressed with the needless reaction of the winger.

“Silly from Gordon to get involved,” he said.

“Krath is getting a card anyway.”

Passion.

This is the type of passion we have been crying out for from the squad, with only Gordon and few others really showing it.

With that being said, though, you have to use it in the right areas and that certainly wasn’t the moment.

The referee already had the yellow card out, so there was no need for the winger to come steaming in from miles away.

It was a poor free-kick too that followed from Gordon, and his final product was all that was missing from a good performance.

The young winger has been the one shining light throughout, but it is about harnessing that ability in the right areas.

Keep that passion high and spread it to your teammates, but don’t go over the top, you never know what you may get punished for – especially after that more than questionable red card for Allan.
