Callum Wilson sends Everton stark warning ahead Goodison Park clash

Callum Wilson has sent Everton a stark warning ahead of tonight’s (March 17) Premier League showdown with Newcastle at Goodison Park.

Frank Lampard’s side will have their sights firmly set on all three points despite the mightily impressive form Newcastle find themselves in.

Toon forward, Wilson, claimed they will look to “catch them cold” in order to continue their brilliant run having lost just one league game in 2022.

“It [the Everton clash] is a big game,” Wilson said on the Footballer’s Football Podcast.

“They have got a new manager, [who] probably has not had the same effect as what we had as our new manager coming in.

“But at some point, things are going to turn. We had a few defeats under our new manager at first.

“They have had that and there is going to be a turning point and a catalyst but we just hope that it is not against us.

“We have got to be making sure that as a squad we are fully focused and fully aware of the run that they are on also and try and basically catch them cold in the game.”

Just win.

Everton fans will be praying tonight is the catalyst for a much-needed boost in form.

The Blues were blown away at St James’ Park the last time the two sides met which resulted in Newcastle going on the brilliant run they currently find themselves on and Lampard will be hoping for the same for his side tonight.

There are no easy games in the Premier League but this one is going to be some fight.

Howe’s side just how far they have come in their disappointing 1-0 loss against Chelsea last time out, holding them to a 1-0 win at Stamford Bridge and probably should have got something from the game.

The Blues have to be on it from the first minute tonight as another loss could leave them in big, big trouble.

It is time for less talking from Lampard and the players and more results because soon their three games in hand would have been played and there will be nowhere to hide if they don’t pick up the points they so desperately need.
