Paul Joyce: Everton fail with Allan appeal after red card v Newcastle
Everton have failed with their appeal for the red card picked up by Allan in the 1-0 win against Newcastle.
That’s according to Paul Joyce, who has shared that a further appeal to reduce the three-match ban has also failed.
That now means that the Brazilian will miss the games against Crystal Palace, West Ham and Burnley as things stand.

Writing on his personal Twitter account this afternoon, Joyce has shared the major news after the appeal was lodged.
“Everton have failed to overturn Allan’s red card and also reduce his three-match ban,” he wrote.
“He misses Crystal Palace, West Ham and Burnley.”
Rubbish.
How has common sense not prevailed here?
Allan made the challenge and accepted that it would be a yellow card, and that was the initial decision made by the officials.
This was never a clear and obvious mistake by the referee, and Stuart Attwell had no right to intervene through VAR after his numerous mistakes in recent weeks that have gathered huge media reactions.
Allan Saint-Maximin was straight back to his feet after the challenge and picked up no injury due to it being a collision of boots, not studs.
Instead, because no referee is brave enough to stick with their initial decision, Allan now has to pay the price for their inconsistency and incompetence yet again.
We’ve seen how the FA and the PGMOL deal with incidents like this already in recent weeks, so we all knew that there was no chance of this being overturned.
What a shocker, and yet again, we’re the ones who suffer.
