Frank Lampard delivers worrying injury update on Everton winger Andros Townsend
Frank Lampard has suggested that Andros Townsend may have picked up a bad injury after Everton suffered a 4-0 defeat against Crystal Palace.
The Englishman was playing so well before he picked up an injury in the first half and in what seemed like he may have twisted something.
Lampard has suggested that it’s a knee injury, and it could keep him out for a while.

The Toffees boss said, as relayed by the Echo journalist, Adam Jones: “Townsend looks back, it’s a knee injury, his studs got stuck in the grass. We’ll assess him over the coming days, the early signs are that it is a bad knee injury.”
Shift in momentum
Townsend was playing really well and was causing problems down the right.
He looked fired up for the challenge, and produced some good deliveries before he got injured.
In fact, his injury shifted the momentum of the match completely.
The little break helped the Eagles to regroup and found a way to counter Everton’s threat.

Once they got the first goal, the home side even better and went on to score three more.
In the second half, they had complete control over the game, while the Toffees failed to produce the spark they showed in the first half.
It seems Townsend could be out for a while, but Lampard will hope that his injury isn’t serious.
The Toffees have badly struggled with injuries this season, and their poor luck with injuries continues.
Lampard needs to find a way to pick up wins away from home. At the moment, they don’t have a clue how to do it.
In other Everton news, Manchester United boss Ralf Rangnick has apologised to Everton with regard to his comments about them due to what’s been going on at Chelsea.
