Kevin Ratcliffe shares brutal verdict on Everton after 4-0 loss v Crystal Palace

Everton suffered a humiliating 4-0 defeat against Crystal Palace in the FA Cup on Sunday (20 March) at Selhurst Park.

After earning a narrow victory against Newcastle in the last game, the Toffees made a confident start in the opening 25 minutes.

However, the confidence quickly evaporated after they scored the first goal. In the end, they ended up conceding three more goals to complete a miserable afternoon.

Kevin Ratcliffe has suggested that the Toffees were “poor and weak” at the back on Twitter. He wrote: “After starting so well, highlighted we are poor and weak at the back!”

It was indeed a bright start made by the visiting side.

Andros Townsend was lively after he produced some very good crosses.

However, after he got injured for twisting his feet, the momentum drastically shifted.

The little break helped Palace to regroup again, and they found a way to not only nullify the Everton threat but went on to demolish them.

Once again, the Toffees were fragile at the back. The performance once again brings out harsh questions about the mentality of the players, and the managerial appointment as well.

It has been proved so far that Frank Lampard has struggled away from home, but what has been really shocking is that the players look completely bereft of confidence once they get behind.

This is simply not a healthy sign. There were so many individual mistakes, and it’s hard to see how Lampard is going to fix them within such a short time.

In other Everton news, this Blues star may have just saved £70million for under-fire owner Farhad Moshiri.
