Robbie Savage shares big concerns for Everton boss Frank Lampard

Robbie Savage has suggested that Everton manager Frank Lampard needs to change his formation after his side were battered at Selhurst Park.

The Blues suffered a 4-0 defeat at the hand of Crystal Palace in the quarter finals of the FA Cup this afternoon (March 20).

Savage also looked at the Toffees away record as a big problem that needs fixing in Lampard’s bid for Premier League survival following another disappointing result on the road.

He said on the BBC Radio five live football phone in [March 20, 6:45]: “The worry for me would be looking at the away form under Frank Lampard and in the league.

“I think [Everton have] only scored is it one or two goals away from home under Frank?

“The worry for me is the away form and maybe Frank looks to change and go for two holding midfield players.”

Pathetic

Something needs to change and sooner rather than later. The Blues have been awful on the road all season long.

It was something the Everton fans expected to improve when Lampard came in, but these players just play awful every time they travel.

Many have blamed Rafa Benitez and the negative tactics he deployed away from home for destroying the players confidence which you can definitely see an element of but there needs to be more responsibility put on those on the pitch.

It is bizarre how the Toffees can go from a capable team at Goodison Park but completely fall to bits away from home.

Today’s game was the final nail in the coffin. That type of performance in an FA Cup quarter final is pathetic. The team played some good stuff whilst on the ball, but the defending was shambolic.

The only silver lining is they can focus solely on the league now but everyone would have loved a trip to Wembley.
