‘Shell shocked’ – Scott Minto furious with Everton squad for performance v Crystal Palace
Talksport pundit Scott Minto was absolutely furious with Everton after their performance in the 4-0 thumping by Crystal Palace in the FA Cup.
The Toffees were blasted at Selhurst Park despite a good start to the game, crumbling to a timid 4-0 thrashing that could’ve been worse on another day.
Minto, who played for West Ham and Charlton in the Premier League, was on commentary for the game on talkSPORT and thinks it’s crazy that the fans are being told to get behind a team that aren’t giving enough.

“Everton players at the moment look shell shocked,” he said.
“I’ve heard people say it’s up to the Everton fans to get behind them at home, but you can’t put it on the Goodison Park faithful, they’re not going to get behind this team when they see them play like this.
“There’s a lot of pressure on this team and they’re not giving enough, whether it be home or away.
“They didn’t play badly today and yet they lost 4-0, how can that happen? Good teams don’t do that and they’re in a really bad place mentally.
“That was a really big win in mid-week against Newcastle, massive, and yet after what’s happened today it’s going to be a long two weeks.”

On the money
Right now it seems as though the Goodison Park faithful are being relied upon way too much and if it wasn’t for their undying love of the club, they should probably take a step back.
This team are relying on the fans on Merseyside to essentially carry them over the finish line and keep them in the league rather than actually performing and doing it themselves.
It’s clear that as soon as any sort of adversity comes their way they just crumble, and it’s at a point now where even the fans will lose belief if things don’t go their way from the off.
Everton didn’t play terribly badly against Palace, and Palace didn’t play particularly well, it was just an accumulation of confidence against a side totally bereft of it.
The players aren’t giving enough to the fans to warrant the type of support they’re expecting, and it’s a dangerous path with relegation such a real possibility this season.
