Keith Hackett amazed that Everton appeal for Allan red card was turned down
We’re delighted to welcome former Premier League referee Keith Hackett as our exclusive columnist. Each week he’ll be giving his views on the biggest talking points at Everton...
Keith Hackett was left amazed that Everton’s appeal against the red card picked up by Allan was turned down.
The ex-FIFA official insisted that he now worries about who sits on the panel to make these calls, as he anticipated it would be overturned.
Allan will now have to serve a three-match ban, with the first of those already passing in the 4-0 defeat at Crystal Palace on Sunday.

“I just worry about who sits on the panel,” he exclusively told Goodison News.
“We know it’s a panel of three, I was anticipating that this would be overturned – I’m amazed.
“I think the club can feel very disappointed that the decision wasn’t overturned, I’d be interested to hear what the reasons were and how they justify it in law.“

How on earth was this not overturned?
Hackett was left “amazed” and he was the head of the PGMOL back in his time officiating which tells you everything you need to know.
Allan will now have a two-week international break to get through knowing that he will not even be available for another week on top of that.
The only saving grace is that one of the banned games came against Crystal Palace in the FA Cup.
Officiating has hit an all-time low in the Premier League, and it looks as though that is both on and off the pitch.
In other Everton news, Simon Jordan has done his “homework” and has made a huge assertion on the threat of FFP sanctions
