Richarlison ready to quit Everton, representatives make decision clear

By Marcus Chan

Everton star man Richarlison is thinking about his future at the club and is reportedly ready to quit Goodison Park at the end of the season.

According to 90min, the Brazilian is prepared to ply his trade elsewhere in order to boost his chances of representing his country in this year’s World Cup in Qatar.

Having been overlooked by Brazil manager Tite since July 2021, partly due to injuries, Richarlison is back in the Brazil squad for the upcoming World Cup qualifiers.

In their report, 90min say: “Sources close to the situation have confirmed to 90min that Richarlison’s representatives have now made it clear to the Toffees that the 24-year-old is looking to leave Goodison Park this summer.”

Disappointing season

It has been a disappointing season so far for Richarlison, having scored only four goals and assisted three times in 20 appearances, he hasn’t been able to propel Everton away from the relegation zone and the Toffees are still well in the fight for Premier League survival under new boss Frank Lampard.

Despite a below-par season, 24-year-old Richarlison will have plenty of suitors not just in the Premier League, but around Europe too. PSG will reportedly be keeping tabs on him in a bid to lure him to the Parc de Princes [90min].

Arsenal will be looking to sign a striker in the summer and Richarlison could be high on Mikel Arteta’s wanted list. Manchester United are also thought to be an admirer of the Brazilian forward.

The ball however will be in Everton’s court, as Richarlison is under contract with the club until 2024, having signed a six-year deal when he joined Everton from Watford in a £40m transfer in the summer of 2018.
