Jordan Pickford among three Everton men in England’s best XI since 2000
Goalkeeper Jordan Pickford has been named among three Everton figures of the past and present in talkSPORT’s best England XI since 2000.
The Blues goalkeeper will be fondly remembered for the part he played in the Three Lions’ penalty shoutout heroics route to the 2018 World Cup final as well as impressive displays that helped his nation reach the final of the 2020 European Championships.
Toffees manager Frank Lampard earned himself a place in the team following his illustrious playing career and former Everton player Wayne Rooney was also included.

Jekyll & Hyde
It is always nice when an Everton player is included in a team like this, especially England’s best-ever XI since 2000.
Pickford has beaten a host of big names between the sticks but all of them have made massive blunders.
You think of David Seaman and his mistake that allowed Ronaldinho to lob him, Rob Green and his unforgivable sand hands against the USA as well as David James and his poor performance that saw England knocked out against Germany in 2010.

The rest have failed to make an impact with the national team being very average at best since 200 but Pickford has established himself as somewhat of a legend throughout the country.
If only he could replicate that form all season long with the Toffees. It is almost as if every time he puts that blue shirt on, he is a completely different goalkeeper who is capable of making a catalogue of mistakes, it doesn’t make sense.
Blues boss Lampard and former player Rooney were also nice additions for Evertonian’s who will be wishing they could return to their prime and help the club out of this mess.
