Everton receive boost as Real Madrid ready to offload Luka Jovic on loan

Everton target Luka Jovic is frustrated with the lack of game time at Real Madrid and could leave the La Liga giants in the summer.

According to reports from AS (printed edition, 27 March – page 8), the 24-year-old is looking to change clubs in the summer, and Madrid are equally keen to offload him.

Earlier this month, Spanish outlet Marca, claimed that the Toffees enquired about signing him in January but they failed to secure his signature.

AS, however, claim that there has been no offer from the Toffees in January or last summer, but the situation is likely to change in a few months’ time.

Jovic was a big-money signing from Eintracht Frankfurt. They invested around £50 million on him. Taking the amortisation money into consideration, Jovic will cost around £25 million in the summer.

He is yet to start a single La Liga match for the Blancos, and very few clubs would be willing to take a gamble on him by paying that money.

Jovic also earns around £3.6 million net per year and it could be a problem to match his wages. Madrid could find it really hard to offload him, but they are ready to send him out on loan and save a large part of their salary.

The news will come as a boost for the Toffees who could be looking to sign a striker in the summer. For a player of his ability, getting him on loan would be a superb deal, provided they avoid the drop this season.

In other Everton news, the Blues have lost their best player this season after Andros Townsend’s injury.
