Richard Keys: Watch this space as Everton take on West Ham, Frank Lampard may make big change

Richard Keys has urged Everton fans to “watch this space” with Frank Lampard’s team selection against West Ham.

The controversial pundit insists that he was told Asmir Begovic was set to keep his place ahead of Jordan Pickford if it wasn’t for injury.

With Pickford back fully fit and firing for England this week, it would be a huge shock if the Bosnian veteran was backed.

Writing in his blog on his own website this week, Keys shared that fans may want to watch this space regarding the team news.

“I’m told, after an impressive game v Newcastle, he [Begovic] would’ve kept his place for the Cup tie at a Palace had he been fit.

“That might have forced Southgate’s hand. Watch this space and see what Lampard does at the weekend.”

Crazy.

Of course, Begovic would always have kept his spot given it was in the FA Cup at Crystal Palace and that is where he has been playing.

Pickford takes up the reins in the Premier League, and that has not changed no matter who is in charge of the club.

Lampard will be loyal to those who perform, and Begovic may have impressed against Newcastle, but Pickford has shined throughout this dreadful run, and it could have been worst without him.

It would be a massive shock if we got to the London Stadium this weekend and it was Begovic in goal, although, would it make any difference?

Our form has been as shocking as our defence apart from that Newcastle game, and no matter who is behind that back four, goals will be shipped.

In other Everton news, the club are on a cliff edge and risk missing out on an “extraordinary” £10.4billion windfall share.
