Stan Collymore tears Dele Alli and Donny van de Beek to shreds as he slams entire Everton midfield
Stan Collymore has launched a scathing attack on midfielders at Everton, suggesting that none of them are good enough and all of them have their issues.
Frank Lampard has so far been unable to move the Blues away from the Premier League’s relegation zone with their 2-1 defeat to West Ham on Sunday piling more misery on the Merseyside club.
Ahead of the game, ex-Liverpool forward Collymore tore into each one of Everton’s midfielders and really went in on Aston Villa loanee Anwar El Ghazi, who he said he’d drive back to the Midlands.

Writing in the Sunday People today [print edition, 3 April, page 50], Collymore said: “Dele Alli – lightweight, but a nice boy.
“Donny van de Beek – not cut out for a scrap. He must be saying to himself: ‘What am I doing here?’.
“Tom Davies – spends more time messing around with Dominic Calvert-Lewin as a clothes-horse than he does playing football.
“Andre Gomes – came back after a nasty injury and hasn’t been the same.
“Anwar El Ghazi – the loanee is not good enough for Everton. I’d have driven him from Merseyside back to Villa Park.
“Allan – very good technically, but way short of the quality any of the top-four sides would want.
“Andros Townsend – he has given it a go, but he’s too old.
“Fabian Delph – another player who is too old and he’s always carrying an injury.
“Abdoulaye Doucoure – average.”

Stupid signing
Can someone from the club please come out and explain why El Ghazi was signed on loan from Villa in January?
Funds were already tight at Goodison Park so going out and signing a fringe player from a mid-table side was always going to be a ridiculous move by the Blues.
El Ghazi has since made two appearances for the Toffees which add up to 11 minutes’ worth of game-time in the Premier League.
Kia Joorbachian was surely behind the signing of the Dutchman – his influence over Farhad Moshiri is poisonous.
El Ghazi’s loan at Goodison Park is a constant reminder as to why this club is where they are right now.
Moshiri has run the Blues into the ground and could be running us into the Championship too.
We’d say he’s got to go and needs to sell up. But who takes on the enormous losses? Who takes on the building of a new stadium? Who takes on a Championship team filled with players earning Premier League wages?
It’s a mess. It’s sickening.
