Alan Myers provides latest injury update on Everton trio
Everton have suffered terrible luck with their injuries this season, and it still continues to haunt them.
Sky Sports journalist Alan Myers has shared on Twitter that Nathan Patterson and Andre Gomes picked up injuries before the game and hence they didn’t feature.
Donny van de Beek was selected for the squad but he picked up an injury just before the kick-off. Mason Holgate replaced him in the starting line-up.
Strange
Patterson was impressive for Scotland during the international break and many expected him to feature against the Hammers.
The young right-back also looked fine during training on Friday. However, he probably has picked up some injury in training and hence was completely absent from the matchday squad.
Gomes, likewise, has struggled with his fitness throughout the campaign, and losing him meant Frank Lampard was short of options in midfield.

Fabian Delph returned to training in recent weeks but he wasn’t seen in training ahead of the game. With Yerry Mina still out, the Toffees are short of options in several departments.
On top of that, Michael Keane has picked up a red card and he will be suspended for the next game.
Lampard will hope that Van de Beek’s injury is not too serious, and that he can return shortly.
