Kevin Campbell sees money but no plan from Farhad Moshiri at Everton after major Tuesday news
We’re delighted to welcome former Everton striker Kevin Campbell as our exclusive columnist. Each week the former Toffees captain will be giving his views on the biggest talking points at Goodison Park…
Farhad Moshiri has “put his money where his mouth is” at Everton but doesn’t have the plan to back it up says Kevin Campbell.
After announcing over £100million in losses for the third straight season in a statement on Tuesday (29 March), the club made clear their financial survival was safe due to the “continued unwavering support and commitment” of the owner.
But Sky and talkSPORT pundit Campbell is concerned that Moshiri has poured money into the club without a proper understanding of how to spend it.

He exclusively told Goodison News: “Well look, I think you can look at it two ways. Moshiri’s come in, he’s put his money where his mouth is, he’s improved things, he’s brought in the players etc.
“The fact that the team hasn’t gone onto where they expected to – we’ve seen glimpses of the team doing well.
“But the problem is the plan, that’s the problem. The plan of the football club is not right.
“Whenever there’s things that have happened like this where you’ve invested a lot of money and the team have got worse, kind of, you have to ask, ‘What actually is the plan at Everton?’
“So I think you could accuse Moshiri of not having the plan or the people with the plan, but I don’t think you can have a go at him for not putting his money where his mouth is.”

The spending without the plan is what has helped the club get into the financial situation it is currently in.
One is no good without the other, as the product on the pitch has not been strong enough and all it has achieved are huge losses and no success.
The team are at the lowest point they have been in years, when they need to be generating cash more than ever, but the biggest threat is relegation and a major blow to the ability to do so.
In other Everton news, Dele Alli’s ongoing situation at the club has had an in depth light shed on it by The Athletic.
