Peter Reid admits to worry over Everton relegation fears
Everton succumbed to yet another defeat away from home as West Ham edged a tight affair 2-1 at the enormous London Stadium.
Mason Holgate grabbed the Toffees’ goal in the second half to make it 1-1 after Aaron Cresswell’s free-kick had the Hammers ahead.
But Jarrod Bowen was in the right place to tap home a rebound just minutes after the game had been levelled and the situation got even worse later in the game as Michael Keane was sent off for a second yellow card.
Former Everton icon Peter Reid admitted that he was worried about the prospect of relegation while talking to talkSPORT after the game.
“Having looked through the fixtures, Everton have got some real tough games,” Reid said. “I just hope we get enough points to keep us in the league.
“It’s going to be hard because going to Burnley on Wednesday is going to be a really difficult game.
“Am I worried? Yes. The players have got to come out and take some responsibility here.”
Cannot lose
Wednesday’s crunch match against Burnley is likely to be decisive for Everton’s season and Frank Lampard will be more than aware of that.

He will love to win that and really give themselves a solid cushion to the drop zone but he can’t go gung-ho trying to do that.
Quite simply, Everton must not lose at Turf Moor if they want to make their end of season a much more relaxing affair than it’s shaping up to be.
Not only because they can’t afford Burnley getting any closer, but because they have a much harder run-in than most of their fellow survival strugglers and they can’t be relying on beating the best teams in the country to stay on Match of the Day for another year.
Defeat in Lancashire may well see the Toffees lose that crumb of hope they’ve been clinging onto and start the freefall towards Championship football.
