Simon Jordan and Jim White go on unbelievable rant slaughtering Everton ace Dele Alli

Simon Jordan went on an unbelievable rant on Monday morning where he labelled Everton midfielder Dele Alli a ‘waste of time’ and said he should be ’embarrassed’.

Dele hasn’t started a single game yet for the Toffees and was an unused substitute as the Toffees fell to a 2-1 defeat to West Ham on Sunday.

His absence sparked a huge debate on talkSPORT [April 4, 10:10am] where Jim White and Jordan went on an unbelievable rant and slaughtered both Dele and Frank Lampard for the transfer.

“It begs the question, what was the point in signing him? They bring him in there to add to them, to bolster their ranks,” White said.

“There’s no reason for him not to be fit,” Jordan replied. “There may be reason for him not to be match fit or sharp but he’s been there now for two months.

“He’s a complete and utter waste of time. He was a waste of time at Tottenham for two years, it was a waste of time signing. I hope I’m wrong, because the boy was talented.

“I don’t think he was ever at the level people built him up to, all of a sudden he was the best number ten in the world and people were making cases for what a wonderful player he was.

“But the point is now he’s in a situation where he’s been drop-kicked out of `Tottenham. The only reason Everton took him is because the actual fee itself was deferred and paid into the long grass based upon performance. Based upon performance, Everton will get a rebate because they’re doing it on a performance related basis.

“The kid has got to be embarrassed. Is there any level of professional pride?

“You’ve been booted out of Tottenham, two or three managers didn’t want you. You’ve seen Mourinho absolutely decimate the way you approach training. I would imagine he’s probably replicating that at Everton.

“I think Frank Lampard should be look at himself for wanting to sign players like Dele Alli because he needed help, not a compounding of the problem.

“Because if this kid has gone to Everton and is in last chance saloon, or close to it, and this is the by-product of it, there’s no reason he shouldn’t be chomping at the bit. There’s no reason he shouldn’t be fit enough or competitive enough to go into that Everton side because that Everton side is poor.

“So to be out of it, with the people in front of you, with a couple of exceptions like the kid [Gordon] who’s in on merit that was on the bench yesterday, Dele Alli you’re looking at someone who’s wasting everyone’s time. Notably his own.”

Wow

After defeat in a game he didn’t play in, it seems crazy to me that Dele has become the scapegoat of Everton’s dismal form currently.

Yes his transfer looks incredibly underwhelming right now, but he’s had next to no impact on the club’s poor form on the pitch and is certainly not responsible for their current position.

Calling him a waste of time and saying he should be embarrassed is incredibly harsh and completely missing the big problem at the club.

The players that are playing simply aren’t doing nearly enough to generate the sort of momentum and results that are needed to save the club, and Lampard is not doing well enough in his job.

Dele must improve but it’s hard for him to do that without being given the chance to do so, so maybe people should lay off him a little bit in this instance.
