Carlton Cole slams Everton ace Calvert-Lewin for magazine pictures

Carlton Cole has slammed Everton attacker Dominic Calvert-Lewin after his pictures appeared in GQ magazine.

The talkSPORT pundit was having none of the England international’s front cover shots, given the Toffees’ poor run of form.

He believes that the striker should have found a way to come out in a different manner.

Speaking on talkSPORT, he said, “You can do whatever you want away from football.

“That’s your pastime. That’s where your interests are. He loves getting into fashion.

“I don’t see it as a problem but you got to time it and let those pictures come out in a certain fashion.

“Right now, he can’t be seen doing this. They’re not in a good position in the league.

“It’s about Everton staying in the league and grafting and not striking a pose.”

Bizarre

It’s bizarre that Cole thinks Calvert-Lewin controls when the magazine chooses to release certain images.

The photoshoot could have happened a few months ago when the Englishman was probably injured.

It’s not his fault that the release has been timed with Everton’s recent run of results.

Everton

He has an off-field interest and he is pursuing it however he wants, without it affecting his game.

If suddenly his training levels went down, then the club would find ways to reprimand him.

Cole needs to mind his own business and let the club decide what they want to do, if anything.

In other Everton news, a football finance expert has made a claim on the new Toffees stadium amid a major £300m development in the last week.
